SMTP2GO Terraform Provider
A Terraform provider for SMTP2GO, so sending domains, SMTP users, API keys and webhooks are declared in code rather than clicked together in a dashboard. In development and not yet published.
I manage SMTP2GO configuration by hand — sending domains and their DKIM and return-path records, SMTP users, API keys and permissions — and wanted it in code with everything else I run that way. No provider exists for it on the Terraform registry, so I am writing one.
It covers sender domains and their subdomains, SMTP users, API keys, subaccounts, webhooks, templates, suppressions, allowed senders and recipients, and the IP allow list. Sending and statistics are left out as runtime rather than configuration.
The API is POST-only — 72 POST endpoints and four PATCH, with no GET, PUT or
DELETE — so the usual mapping from Terraform's lifecycle onto REST verbs has to
be done by hand. Subaccounts are closed rather than deleted, with a separate call
to reopen them, which leaves a question over what terraform destroy should do.
