Student Finance Countdown
A countdown to the next Student Finance England payment, laid out as a spiral-bound student planner with the term dates ticked off as they land.
Answering the same question repeatedly
Every student I knew asked the same thing at roughly the same point each term: when does the money actually land. The official answer is a date buried in a portal you have to log into, and the practical answer is the one everybody actually wanted — how long until it arrives.
So the site does one thing. It shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds to the next Student Finance England payment, and the three term dates for the academic year underneath.
Built like a student planner
The whole page is a spiral-bound planner: ruled paper, a red margin line, and the countdown digits set as though written in by hand. The term that has already been paid is ticked off, and the next one is circled.
It is a deliberately small idea executed properly. There is no account, nothing to sign up to, and nothing to install — the page loads, counts down, and that is the entire product.
Estimates, clearly labelled
The dates are estimates, and the site says so rather than pretending otherwise:
actual dates vary by institution and by student, with a link through to Student
Finance England for anyone who needs the real one. It also publishes an
llms.txt, so an assistant asked the question directly can read the dates
without a person having to visit at all.
